I’m so proud to volunteer for Refugee.info Italy, a digital information platform for migrants and asylum-seekers. Under the International Rescue Committee umbrella, Refugee.info Italy publishes detailed, multi-lingual guides to help families safely navigate the bureaucratically byzantine and physically dangerous land and sea routes to Italy, as well as successfully gain documentation such as local IDs, work permits and citizenship once they arrive. Refugee.info Italy also maintains Facebook pages, plus WhatsApp and Telegram channels, to communicate with asylum-seekers directly on their voyage and after.
It’s an organization that has helped thousands of people, and I’m glad to have contributed by way of extensive research for articles like this. I’ve also written guides, like this one on obtaining a Family Permit, and provided copy-editing support to ensure that reports written by non-native English speakers are as clear and useful as possible for all those who need them.
